Winter Gear Drive at Outdoor Gear Exchange

Drop off your new and gently used snowsports gear for BIPOC ‘vermonters’ at the Outdoor Gear Exchange. Please head to the Tuning/Service counter anytime Friday, November 4th to Friday November 11th (during normal business hours, www.gearx.com/hours_location). Tell one of the service technicians that you are donating gear for Unlikely Riders, and they will collect your gear, and if it’s a hard good, they will inspect it to ensure it meets the donation guidelines.

The Gear Donation Guidelines for this drive are below:

Winter Clothing and Softgoods: (such as winter jackets, winter layers, snowpants, etc.)

  • All zippers must be functional.

  • Please inspect all clothing to ensure they are free of stains and tears. All clothing must be washed prior to donating.

  • Waterproof clothing should be washed with special detergents like Nikwax.

Winter Hardgoods: (such as Skis, Snowboards, Boots, Bindings and Snowshoes)

  • Ski hardgoods will need to be vetted by the service department prior to donating, pictures can be sent to unlikelyriders@gmail.com to determine if you should bring them in for an assessment or if they are too old for donating.

  • Ski base or top sheet damage will need to be repaired prior to donating. OGE has a ski service department, costs are covered by the person donating said gear.

  • Ski boots should be less than 6 years old to qualify for donating.

  • Ski bindings need to be indemnified and have all required hardware included.

OGE employees will assess the condition of your gear. Important note: If you are donating ski/snowboard hardgoods, first stop by the service department at the top of the stairs for an assessment.”
